Mommy Time?

I know it's just part of having two small kids, but I find it nearly impossible to take five minutes to brush my hair or do my makeup. Everytime I put Emma Cate down, she looks up at me and screams. So, yesterday, I think I found a solution that buys me about ten minutes of "getting ready" time: I figured out that Emma just wants to see what I'm up to, so I put her in the bathroom sink in front of me. She was happy sitting there and playing with a headband, a comb and some toothpaste. :) Luke came in to play, too. I think I should get some sort of award for this. LOL

Scooting, Playing, Teething

Well, it's been a pretty busy week here. Miss Priss is trying to move around, but hasn't figured out how to crawl yet. She usually just pushes herself backwards and gets into some pretty interesting situations. :) One day, she scooted herself underneath her toy, and Luke decided it looked pretty fun, so he joined her. It didn't take long for her to get mad, though, because she was trying to move forward, not backward. Luckily, her big brother was there to help her out. It was pretty cute watching him rescue her.

Now, look closely at this last pic (click to enlarge) to see Emma Cate's new pearly whites. Two down, a gazillion to go! It looks like she's crying in that picture, but she's actually giggling. :)

The Lukes

When Luke started preschool this year, we met another little boy named Luke in his class. So, at school, they are Luke J. and Luke P. We've now become friends with Luke P. and his mommy. He got to come to the house to play this week, and the boys had a blast. Emma Cate really enjoyed playing with Luke P., too. I'm thinking maybe they had too much fun together, because they decided it would be more fun to break the rules at school the next day. The teachers said that had trouble with "The Lukes." I think they chose to leave circle time to run around the room and play. I'm sure glad that they are friends, but I hope this doesn't mean double trouble. :)

Adventure Landing

We thought it would be fun to take Luke to play miniature golf, so we went to a fun place called Adventure Landing. It was a lot of fun! They had three different golf courses with bridges, tunnels, animal statues and waterfalls. We tried to teach Luke how to play, but he insisted on taking the balls straight to the hole and putting them in. He would let us putt, but then he would collect all of the balls and move on the the next hole. Due to this technique, it only took us about 20 minutes to play 18 holes. :) Next, Dale and Luke rode on the go-carts. They think they beat everyone else, of course! Before we left, we went inside and played in the arcade for a while. Luke was exhausted, and so were we!
