Christmas Morning

Christmas morning was a lot of fun. Luke was so happy when he saw Spike the Dinosaur. He said, "Just what I always wanted!" He played with that awhile before he even noticed the other gifts. Emma Cate was a little bit scared of Spike, so she was very cautious for awhile. They have spent all day exploring and playing!!

Christmas in El Dorado

We went to El Dorado for a long weekend to celebrate Christmas with Mimi, Pop, Uncle Chase and Addison. Luckily, we opened gifts on Friday night, because Luke and Emma Cate both ended up with a stomach virus the rest of the visit. Here are a few fun pics:

Emma was happy to be there:

Addison learned how to climb a tree!
Fun opening presents!

Breakfast with Santa

Luke and Mommy had a date this morning. We went to the library for breakfast with Santa, and Luke had a great time. He ate muffins while Santa read a book, then he sat with Santa and told him that he wanted Spike the Dinosaur for Christmas. Very sweet!!

I Love a Sleeping Baby!

I saw a commercial one night that showed sleeping babies, and it choked me up. So, I decided to take a few pics of Emma Cate when she was sleeping that night. She looks so beautiful!

Santa

Today we went to see Santa and his reindeer. I know it's early, but we really were just going to check to see what hours he was going to be there. When we got there, there was no one waiting to see Santa, and he called Luke over to talk to him. So, we went ahead and had a picture made. Luke was so happy and excited. Emma Cate, on the other hand........

So Proud of Luke!!

Last year, Luke had three music programs at school. He freaked out at each one, and didn't finish singing on stage. This week, he had his first one of the year. He was so adorable! He wasn't scared at all, and even made it to the finale. He's getting so big!!

Before the program:

Officially a Toddler

Miss Pris has been toddling around for a couple of weeks now. She still prefers to crawl a lot, but she's getting used to walking now. When she stands up, she announces it by saying, "Up!" When she saw me with the camera, she started saying, "Cheeeessssse." :)

Trick or Treat

On Halloween night, we took the kids around the neighborhood trick or treating. They only lasted about half an hour, and then we come home to pass out candy. It was fun!

Heading out the door:

Emma Cate got tired, so I had to put her in the carrier. That made me tired! LOL

I think they had more fun waiting for kids to come to our house!

Halloween Preview

Luke's school hosted Trunk or Treat on Sunday. Tons of cars lined up in the parking lot, opened their trunks, decorated them, and handed out candy to kids. So, Luke got to wear his pterodactyl costume. He looks so cute in it! It was really warm that day, so Emma Cate didn't wear her costume. She looked cute in her outfit, though!

Fall is Among Us

It's the time of the year when the weekends are packed with pumpkin patches and fall festivals. Today, our neighborhood had a fun festival for the kiddos. Luke had a blast playing games and Emma Cate had her first experience with a bounce house. She had such a good time, she feel asleep on the walk home!

Favorite Summer Photo

They'll only be this little once!! This is my favorite summer photo because we spent lots of afternoons on the patio doing this. On this day, Luke was being really sweet and sharing with his sister. Also, Emma Cate's accessories are absolutely beautiful. :)

It Went Well!!

Luke did great this morning. He was a little anxious, but was a trooper. He took the "goofy juice" from the syringe, then he kept saying, "I feel funny" while smiling. :) He had no problem being rolled away, so I was very relieved. When he woke from anesthesia, he was not very happy about the IV in his hand. The doctor pushed the fluids as quickly as he could, and Luke calmed down after they took the IV out. Luke feel asleep in the car before we got out of the parking lot.

He came home, had a nap and ate some lunch. Now, he and Emma Cate are playing in a "tent". It's been hard to keep him still since he's started feeling better. Overall, it's been a good day, and I've very proud of him!

Luke's Adenoids

Luke went to the ENT doctor last week, and he thinks Luke's adenoids are enlarged and need to be taken out. The main complaint I've had is that Luke always seems tired, even after sleeping all night. The doctor explained that Luke can't breathe through his nose, so he never gets into a deep sleep at night. It is definitely catching up with him. He always looks and acts tired and is a very restless sleeper. I was looking back at some pics of him, and I can see that dark circles and bags forming under his eyes. Poor thing! The procedure is an outpatient surgery that lasts about 15 minutes. It's scheduled for tomorrow morning at 7am. I'll post ASAP tomorrow,

M&Ms

Today Luke and I made cookies for firefighters who are going to be visiting his preschool tomorrow. He insisted that firefighters like cookies with M&Ms, so his job was to put the M&Ms on the cookies. We pulled his ladder up to the island so he could reach the cookies. Then, I just gave him a small bowl of M&Ms to eat. Emma Cate was playing on the kitchen floor watching up very closely. Well, Luke went to the potty and then called me in there to help him. I had my back turned to the kitchen for a few seconds, and Luke yelled, "Mommy! Go get Emma Cate!" When I turned around, this is what I saw:

She climbed the ladder to get the M&Ms! She's never even had M&Ms, so I'm not sure why she thought she needed them. LOL

I gave her a few, and she was very pleased with herself!
